I agree with the comment about let's be realistic here but I was very pleasantly surprised at the performace. I bolted this on to the front of my trailer so that I could pull stuff up a set of ramps and drag to the front to balance the load.

My ramps are long but the grade must be at least 30*. This little beast pulled Bubba the Steam Cleaner right up the ramps and dragged it to the front of the trailer without a noticeable change in pitch or effort. Bubba is ~300# with wheels only on the back and two rubber snubbers on the front. I had to keep the cable held up a bit so Bubba jumped a bit on the ramps. I had some rubber left on the ramps from the scraping and I could care less. Excellent performance.

After unloading Bubba, I loaded a BIG engine crane. Rolled it to the back of the trailer, looped the cable around the top and the winch easily pulled it over and dragged it to the front.

I can't ask for more than that.

BTW, after I loaded Bubba one of my off-road buddies told me that you need to leave the engine running while winching to protect your battery.

I bought one to mount to the rafters of my shed to lift the back of my 18 HP lawn tractor high so that I can use an air tool to remove my blades to sharpen each spring, and also to lift the occasional deer during deer season. It's actually overkill for those uses, but for $61 it beats doing it the hard way. I don't trust my small roof system, but if my rafters were reinforced it could easily vertically lift my lawn tractor completely off the floor no problem.

I had a problem getting my 1600 pound two axle car carrier trailer into my extra garage after each trip. Since the turning radius was not large enough to use the vehicle to move it into the garage I needed a method to move the trailer by hand. There is a short but steep incline just in front of the garage door opening that made moving the trailer into the garage by hand very difficult for this Senior citizen. I purchased the Master Lock portable winch and installed a bolted temporary anchor in the concrete garage floor to secure the winch. Now with my wife operating the motor control along with me guiding/steering the trailer we can now put the trailer into the garage without any difficulty. The winch is geared in such a manner that the movement of the trailer is very deliberate which makes the trailer positioning a very safe operation. Even with the demand of the trailer weight and incline the winch has plenty of power to do the job. After the trailer is parked I just unbolt the anchor and put the light weight Master Lock winch on a shelve until the next time.

I really am very pleased with this adaption of the winch. It became a back saver for us and only takes a few minutes to set up and complete.
