African Dwarf frogs are lovely creatures and as a long time owner the conditions provided in this kit are NOT acceptable. THEY ARE NOTHING SHORT OF CRUEL!!

Generally you need to provide AT LEAST 2 1/2 gallons of water for EACH frog. Though not necessary, we keep ours in a 18 gallon tank for two. These frogs more often than not need a heater because their ideal water temp is 77-81 F. Also, many hiding places are A MUST. This kit provides NONE. The flakes this kit provides are unacceptable as well because freeze-dried food can CLOG THEIR ARTERIES. They need frozen blood worms, live blood worms or sinking pellets (I recommend HBH frog/tadpole bites.). Furthermore, the buildup of ammonia can be a big problem and WILL KILL your frogs. If you don't want to have to change your water CONSTANTLY I HIGHLY recommend buying a tank with a FILTER (such as a Whisper filter) and letting it cycle by using a water conditioner and Dr. Tim's One and Only Live Nitrifying Bacteria to make it go faster...it might take a week or so (if you use the Tr. Tims- longer w/ out it) to cycle, but it is WORTH IT because your frogs will have a much higher chance of surviving. Last, but, not least I highly suggest buying a water test kit & keep checking your water to make sure everything is correct!

If taken care of properly these frogs are pretty hardy creatures & can live for many years. It's not too hard to keep them. They are lovely, active & SO much fun. If you use this kit to order frogs PLEASE do your research before hand and give them a proper home. There are so many African Dwarf Frog care sheets online! I suggest using the plastic "tank" provided as the tank you keep them in while you are cleaning their actual tank. I say a 10 gallon MINIMUM (compare that to the size of this plastic box) This kit does NOT properly address the TRUE needs of these wonderful creatures and has caused a lot of deaths. As a consumer you are NOT being informed properly of what this animal needs to be happy and healthy.

REMEMBER: Space, clean water w/ a great filter and water changes bi-weekly, hiding places, proper food & love.

We have been very happy with the frogs until now, one of the frogs stopped eating and ill acting and died(we have had for 4 months). The other frog seem to be fine and healthy. The family very much enjoys these frogs.
