I've been using a Bodum Yo-Yo tea set at work to brew loose tea for over three of years and always considered it very sturdy, since I'm still using the same glass. Since this is the same glass as the Yo-Yo, I would expect this hold up just as well.
I decided to purchase this so I could have another tea set to brew single glasses of loose tea at home. Once I tried it, however, I found I preferred the finer mesh since it holds back more of the loose tea, particularly the Japanese sencha I use.
As far as cleaning the mesh, I have found that keeping the strainer wet allows me to rinse 99+% of the tea away under a faucet.
Anyway, I liked this one so much, it's come to work with me and the Yo-Yo now lives at home.

This is a great tea cup, and it performs exactly as I expected. I use this at work for tea throughout the day. Prior to buying this cup, I used a regular mug with a steel mesh tea basket, which looked really gross whenever anyone would come by my desk. This cup looks so much better and cleaner, and the coaster means I always have somewhere convenient to put the tea basket. The mesh on the strainer does get stained by the tea, especially if you drink black tea, but that's to be expected. After about a month of use, my strainer is a light beige, instead of the fresh white that it was when it arrived.

The cup also keeps the water/tea warm for a long time, so I don't have to worry about my tea getting cold before I can drink it. On the downside, it takes longer for the hot water to cool enough for green and white teas.

Overall, I'm really happy with this cup.

I've used many infusers and this is by far the best. The glass 'mug' is very nice, does a great job of insulating the tea while you drink. The infuser does a nice job of keeping all tea pieces out of the drink and makes it very easy to reuse leaves for nicer teas. I've bought several and would highly recommend this product to anyone who likes loose leaf tea.
